Who ever said fashion and business were mutually exclusive?

As someone who grew up with an eye for fashion and a love for business, I never understood why the two interests were discussed as being diametrically opposed. Why can’t a business savvy mind have an eye for fashion or a creative mind go and crunch numbers?

My entire life has been spent trying to find the perfect intersection between fashion and business. After learning to sew at ten years old, I quickly opened up shop and started my first boutique. During recess, I would take down girls’ measurements in my notebook and design them a dress in my schoolyard atelier. I would hurriedly come back the following week with their order in one hand and their invoice in the other. For me, fashion and business have always been interrelated.

"Fashion by Furlo is where Street smarts meets street style."

Since my short-lived boutique, I have authored a fashion column in my high school newspaper, worked in the marketing department of a fashion firm, taken a deep dive into Google Analytics, marketed a children’s style blog, and conducted research on bankruptcy trends in the retail sector. While I am currently pursuing a career in financial services, my love of fashion and my interest in the industry has anything but diminished. Now, with the creation of Fashion by Furlo, I am hoping to shed light on the business operations that keep the fashion industry afloat. So, whether you’re interested in fashion, business, or a combination of the two, there is truly something for everyone.

This site is for the passionately curious, so enjoy it all.

With love,

Emilia Furlo
